How to use hair sticks

Step1 Use hair sticks in place of combs, pins and clips. They work best on styles in which hair is twisted, gathered or rolled. Make your style as tight as possible before inserting a stick - it will loosen up gradually.
Step2 Envision the ideal placement of the sticks. Think of where to position decorative tips, for example. A second stick may be added to further secure the style, or simply for decoration.
Step3 Grip the stick at its widest portion. Avoid using the decorative top section as a lever; it might break off.
Step4 Insert the stick so that the tip and end are at the opposite angle of their final position. Instead of spearing a bun or twist, graze the roll or coil so that it collects about a 1-inch section of hair. Push the stick until the tip protrudes at least a fingertip in length.
Step5 Lift the stick like a lever and rotate it 180 degrees from the insertion point. Hook a small amount of the hair that's pulled flat against the head while pushing the stick through the style. When securing a bun, make sure to push the tip through the coil at the opposite end.
Step6 Practice and be patient. Hair sticks can be a difficult accessory to get used to. Rely on your sense of touch to guide their position and firmness of hold.

Shopping & accessorizing

Thanks to Sarah and Ling for the great tip. Since young, I have been thought to share the great tings. As a child, I shared toys with my play mates. In school, I shared exam answers with my class mates (Yes! I am an angel). In my teenage years, I share gosspis with my pals.

And now at the prime of life, I wanna share my joy of accessories too. Hence this site for all you fashionistas out there. We are all blessed with people around us, be it mothers, sisters, friens or neighbours. So share what we love with them.

  • Introduce www.about-attitude.blogspot.com to them
  • Choose the best accessories as a present for them. You can never go wrong as there is mix and match
  • Pick accessories as a souvenior from your vacation. Wearing your souvenior makes them think of you
  • Go shopping together for accessories. Your friends can tell you what suits you best from an observers point of view
  • Never be afraid of trying new things. The pearl necklace from your mum's days might be perfect for you.

Bazaars and all...

Shopping is a girl's favourite past time. And some guys love it too ... but that's minority. In KL, you will be spoilt for choices as to which mall to visit. I wonder how its like in other parts of the world. For me, my personal favourite is The Curve in Petaling Jaya. I love the bazzar there. You'll find lots of handmade accessories and unique pieces that only You will own. Thats what I like about them. If you search hard enough, you can find treasures.

But be weary though ... and remeber to bargain. Prices can get pretty high there. And try to visit all the shops before making a purchase. The other stall might have the exact same thing at half the price. oohh ..... A tip from me ....... go when the bazaar is about to close. Around 6-ish pm. If not you'll sweat like a ig and get squished by other hot bodies. That walk way is way too cramped ...

But anyway, I asked around, "Where do you like to go to shop for accessories?"

"Shopping malls. Like in Vincci or Diva. But chances of clashing is quite high."
( Lizzie, 19, Student)

"Bazaars, like this one (Curve). You can find nice things. But I don't come here often. I always end up hot and grumpy.
( Li Ching, 32, PR Manager)

"The little stalls at shopping centres. They have tons of stuff there. And they are trendy for for us."
( Farah, 15, Student)

"On the internet. In the comfort of my own home. There are a few good sites that displays their wares. But another great place is Khazanah in the malls. Unique but pricey."
(Jacklyn, 28, Journalist)

Sharing treasures

It may be a hard day for me at work and life may not be going all that well. My boss just rejected my paper work and my dog is sick..... I know its not the end of the world .......... BUT I NEED TO FIND A WAY TO CHEER ME UP!! And shopping is an instant pick me up. And to be more specific, shopping for beads, stones, accessories and just about any item you can use to decorate yourself brings an instant cheer to me.

Check out these 2 precious finds.

This red beauty shows the glamor of the princess who wears it. The darkness of it pendant just shows so much mysticism. Its marbled
texture just makes you want to focus on the piece of art on the stone. Matched with the right colored strings and cherry red beads, this
piece is not at all heavy.

Going at RM 19.90 (RN 011)

When I first saw this piece, I though of my vacation by the beach. Wearing my flip flops and my sunnies. Paired with this piece of necklace, its the ultimate beach wear. Surprisingly light and cool to the touch, I reccomend this to all you beach junkies out there. The pendant, made of a shell, forever remains cool. Whether you're out playing under the sun or chilling in the shopping malls, the shell will feel so cool to the touch on your chest.
That's not all, the beige color makes it so netral and it'll match just about any color.

Treasured Finds

Freinds have been suggesting. Why not make your hobby into something you can share with everyone. So on my site, I'll share with you tips, comments, opinions and the greatest finds. So if you're interested in the pieces I've displayed, just give me a holler and I'll get back to you.

Black just goes well with every color. Black and black makes it the
gothic look, black on white has the fresh look, black on pastels
brings the color out and black on red highlights the contract.

One such piece is this black charm bracelet .. the black projects various color if seen from different angles. Not the plain old black ... but this, with a touch of silver, adds the class it needs.

Going for a mere steal of RM 15.00
Please quote item number BB 011.

Organizng your trinklets

I don't know if you have the same problem as me or not ..... but my mother always nag me .. "Why are your ear rings on the coffee table?" , "Why buy so many necklaces when you don't keep them properly?". And since today is Mother's day, its time to get organized and not make mum nag us so much. Here are some tips to stay neat, and it helps me find the exact accessory I need in a nick of time .. (and mum loves it too as there are no strays lying around anymore).

  • I know its a man's toy but get a tackle box to organize your ear rings. You can sort them by color, by texture or even by your mood. Do keep your ear rings on the plastic holder before you put them in the compatments if not they'll get all tangled up.
  • I have a wooden wardrobe. I stick pins in on the door and hang my necklaces on them. They don't get tangled and I can see easily, which would match my outfit.
  • On another wooden door, I place 2 pins and hang a wire horizontally. I then hang the earrings that do not come with the plastic holders.
  • When I buy accessories, I keep the see through plastic bag that they come in. I'll keep bracelets, ear rings, necklaces etc .. and place them in a box. Its easier to find stuff. Trust me!
  • Get a nice glass bowl and put your rings in them. You can find and easily see them from all angles.
  • Invest in suction caps with hooks. Place them all around your mirror so your favorite and most often worn accessories can be easily within reach.

Once you start arranging your accessories well, not only will you save time, you won't have to throw out your fav pieces because they are 'untangle-able'.

Sleek silver thing

I've never been so pleased in my life. I was practically
screaming with joy when I saw this precious necklace.
If there was a champagne bottle around, I'll immediately pop it open to celebrate. Simple and elegant pieces like these are hard to find.

I've found the perferct accessory and I have the perfect occasion to wear it. My college mate's wedding. I've got a V-neck dark purple velvet dress, pair it with my black strappy stillettos and I've got the look of a million dollars.

Ooh! Can't wait to show this item of to my girls!!
